The only thing certain is taxes are going up. But by how much and why?

Residents will have the opportunity to question area school and government leaders at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 at the Wilson King Stone House on the Lincoln-Tallman Museum campus in Janesville during a forum presented by the Rock County Civics Academy.

Residents will have an opportunity to meet local leaders, learn what to expect from area schools and local governments and ask questions of the panelists.

Guests include Josh Smith, Rock County administrator and Kevin Lahner, city manager of Janesville to share what’s in store for us in 2024.

Panelists also include Dr. Kristi Cole, chief education officer of the Lincoln Academy in Beloit; Mark Holzman, School District of Janesville superintendent and Rich Dahman, School District of Milton superintendent.

Learn what to expect from the money taxpayers invest in local education and government services in the New Year.

It’s also a chance to see the holiday lights on the Lincoln-Tallman grounds and experience the newly renovated Stone House Events Center on campus.

The forum also will stream live on the Rock County Civics Academy Facebook page and will be available to watch later on the Civics Academy’s YouTube channel.

The forum is a presentation of the Rock County Civics Academy, a non-partisan local government watchdog. Get involved, get informed and make a difference in your community.
